If you enjoy a drink ever so often, keep your cash at home if you set out to do your drinking in a casino. I’m serious. Empty your handbag, your wallet, and leave all money, charge cards and cheques at home. Pack only the cash you expect to use on drinks, tips and whatever pocket change you expect to burn and leave the remainder behind.

Cynical? Not by any means. Just realistic. You could experience a win after a boozy night out with your comrades and be lucky sufficiently to catch a long roll at a smokin craps table. Keep that adventure considering that it’s as short-lived as it gets if you consistently drink and gamble. The pair just do not go well together.

Leaving your moola back at the hotel might be a tiny bit excessive, but defensive measures for excessive behavior is compulsory. If you gamble to succeed, then don’t drink and bet. If you can afford to throw aside your assets nary a concern, then consume all the free booze you are able to handle, but do not carry plastic credit and checkbooks to throw into the mix of chasing squanderings after your bombed self throws away everything!

Allow me to take this 1 step further. Don’t consume alcohol and then hop online to play in your favorite casino either. I enjoy a beer from the comfort of my condo, but seeing that I am connected through Neteller, Firepay and have plastic credit at my fingertips, I can not drink alcohol and gamble.

Why? Even though I do not drink alcohol to excess, once I consume alcohol, it’s certainly enough to befuddle my better judgment. I gamble, so I do not drink when betting. If you are more of a drinker, do not wager at the same time. Both make for a decimating, and expensive, cocktail.
